It happens every show.  The posted list of parties sucks, and you never hear about all the private parties until it’s too late to get invited.  So once again Nicky has compiled a list of all the parties and events he could find, private and public, and has compiled them into one easy post so you can harass your affiliate managers who didn’t invite you.

Affiliate Summit East is always a bit smaller than its Vegas counterpart in the winter, but this year, there are even fewer parties and events than normal.   Lots of affiliate networks have closed up shop or downsized significantly after their one-trick-pony rebill shops closed up, so not as many wild blowouts renting out entire strip clubs, etc.

Saturday, Aug 14

  • ABestWeb.com Reception – 6-8pm

    Apparently costs $10 to rsvp. Make sure you go on their forums and either pick someone elses username or make an account on there cause they ask you for your username on the RSVP page.

    From the event page: “There will be an open bar (beer, wine, bottled water and soft drinks) and stationary and passed appetizers including Black Angus Beef and Kobe Style Sliders, Teriyaki glazed Chicken Skewers, Vegetable Shumai & Crystal Shrimp Dumpling, Grilled BBQ Jumbo Shrimp & Chorizo Skewers, Assorted Sushi Rolls and Pan Seared Fillet Mignon Crostini.”

    Probably pretend to be a buy.at member or something.  It says the people invited are “buy.at affiliates, clients, partners, and industry contacts”   Maybe just put you’re a buy.at affiliate in the email, or figure out what offers are on that network and pretend to be from one of those companies.

    From the event page: “Seated in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the Time Hotel reflects the vitality of Times Square while providing a tranquil escape from its non-stop energy.”
    Translation: A bunch of network suits dressed up like this is a really professional industry or something.  Everyone else is there for the open bar.

  • ShareASale “Under the Stars” – 8pm till ?

    RSVP: Pick up a ticket at the ShareASale booth at the Meet Market and bring your badge to the party.  Seriously?  You want people to go out at night in NYC sporting their conference badge?  How the hell is that supposed to work unless you’re a chick with a purse (non-issue since this industry sports a 100:1 male:female ratio.)

    From the event page: “Open top shelf bar from 8pm to midnight, mini beef burgers and other appetizers [free dinner], a variety of great people – affiliates, merchants, vendors [other internet marketing douchebags like yourself], beautiful new york summer evening [yeah east coast weather is great, not], the world-famous (arguable[yep]) ShareASale photobooth, indoor + outdoor seating, dj, cookies and brownies.”

    From event page: “Fashion show featuring the new line of Richie Rich” (guess that means there are actual females there albeit hired)
    Note: According to google, yelp, etc, there is no Epoca restaurant, but theres an Italian place with mediocre reviews called Il Campanello at the same address.

    Nickycakes Prediction: Naive new company who doesn’t know better than to spend a ton of money on a party at Affiliate Summit and let everyone come freeload.  RSVP while you still can.

  • Neverblue Presents: Underground 9pm-?

    RSVP: Contact your rep at Neverblue or CPX Interactive.  If you don’t have a neverblue account, then you’re probably don’t read this blog, so you’re not wanted there anyway.
