Nickycakes Internet Marketing Teamspeak
Posted on February 6th, 2008 in General
Currently there are several ways to get in touch with other people in the internet marketing industry. About 2 months ago, Nickycakes made a post called Working Alone is for Idiots in which he explained that it’s important to network with other peeps in the industry in order to be successful. As a means to this end, the Cakes set up an IRC Channel which has met good success, sometimes having 30+ users logged in and talking about whatever.
Today the Cakes is launching Nickycakes.com Teamspeak Server. If you’ve ever played internet games, you’ve probably used either TS or Ventrilo to talk to other people playing the same game or whatever. It has become enormously popular for games that require you coordinate with other people, so Nickycakes decided it would be good for other people in the internet marketing game to hang out and chat over voice instead of text.
If you’d like to check it out, first go download the Teamspeak Client. Next, connect to Nickycakes’ teamspeak server. The address is 208.74.76.7:8768 . Login with whatever username you want to use, and the guest password is ‘nickycakes’. You will need to be officially registered with the server in order to join any other rooms, so ask the Cakes or some other admin to allow you to register once you’ve joined.
Rules:
- Anyone acting like a retard will be banned.
Keep it real.

Not a bad idea - I skim read the post, downloaded the software, and expected a text chat. So was a little surprised when confronted with a talking Cake. He was there…

Cakes, what’s the deal? You tell me to join it, then you put up these rules that are obviously designed to stop me from joining.
Make your mind!

Wow Nicky, I think your the early innovator/adopter on this idea, TeamSpeak, live conference all about AM. I will be interested in hearing in later posts how it turned out for you, this sounds interesting to see how it unfolds. I hope people can get work done talking over voice in there :).
