Myspace Ads Billing Issues

Many of you have at least tried Myspace Ads over the past couple weeks, many at a profit, most at a loss it seems.  There is certinaly a TON of traffic and a lot of money to be made if you’re smart.

Anyway, it seems that their billing system is broken.  If you have your card declined, they will attempt to bill you again a few times within an hour or so and then just give up, rendering your account useless.  Even if you change to a new card, they won’t even attempt to bill you.  Your account will appear to be functioning properly, and you can even submit ads and have them approved, but none of your ads will show and your account will remain broken indefinately it seems.

Submitting support tickets seems to do nothing either.

Just making a new account seems to be the only working solution right now.  This problem is affecting quite a few people.

Update:

Got this email from myspace regarding the billing issue:

Hello,

In response to your inquiry regarding why you are not receiving ad views after you have updated your credit card information, we will be happy to assist you.  This is a known issue that we are working to resolve. For now you will have to resubmit your campaigns after you update your credit card information. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Please note: Ads are reviewed in the order in which they are received. We appreciate your patience during the review process. During the beta test of this advertising platform we will have MySpace SSAP agents approving ads Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM (Pacific Standard/Daylight Time).

Thank you for advertising on MySpace.

  • They need to get their act together.

  • Yeah they do seems to have a few bugs, guess that why it’s in beta. And traffic is insane, it’s like a fire hose with no way to turn it off..

  • Apparently the way to turn it off is to have your cc declined haha

  • Hey Cakes.. How about a little elaboration on the ‘lots of money to be made if you’re smart’.

The traffic from myspace is converting like crap for me. What kind of shady stuff do you have to do to get a return? Swapping landing pages after approval? Getting cheaper than $.25 clicks. Get at me.

  • Yeah, really.. My friends that started aff.markerting in 1999 and is superaffiliate and whatever, runs quite a few campaigns on Fb says that he doesn’t want myspace crappy traffic for free, nevermind paying 0.25 cpc. I say that saying that their system is crap is a huge understatement. Virtually no control, no normal interface – idiotic everything! Yeah, they have flash “banner builder” – so what? I can build better one for couple thousand bucks in Ukraine! I am pissed off with their everything so far. Seriously, I can’t understand what do you have to do to convert their 0.25 clicks into anything decent.. Nickycakes, what say you?

  • I’m having serious problems with MySpace. Their bill got caught twice by my CC fraud detection system, and after the second time, ads won’t run at all. Its now been two full days and they aren’t doing a thing about it. Anyone else having this problem?

  • I found the only way was to make a new account to get over this – even with the same card once I had cleared the balance!
First time it happened I just changed cards, they billed it, and then still never showed ads for that account again.

Don’t know why everyone is so down on myspace traffic though – first three weeks I made a ton of money, crazy traffic and converting really well to give 100% ROI. I’d have made a lot more, but for the billing issue.

In the last week its gone to shit, with hardly any ad impressions being the problem now. CTR on now dead ads is good, 0.09 and above…just not getting impressions. Having felt initially smart, I’m now feeling not so smart as I can’t seem to figure out how to get the consistent traffic or ad impressions back!

And I was starting to think this was easy… ;)

  • I’ve gotten double charged over 15 times in the last two days – simple unbelievable. I’ve personally talked to MySpace over the phone and they’re working on a solution – so you should be in business soon.
