Make Money With Firefox Referrals

If you're tired of refreshing this page every day like a d-bag, you should probably subscribe to the RSS feed.

If you visit this site with internet explorer, you’ll notice an annoying banner at the top asking you to please switch to Firefox. Internet Explorer sucks. It is much more prone to viruses than Firefox, it’s slower, less functional, more ugly, doesn’t display this site properly, etc. There are absolutely no advantages to using Internet Explorer other than the 2 minutes saved by not installing Firefox instead.

Nickycakes uses Firefox, and reccomends it to all his friends and family. If you’re a computer savvy guy/girl then you likely have friends and family members frequently asking you to fix their busted down adware infected computers from time to time. Generally installing virus scan software, cleaning off the adware, removing unnecessary startup processes, and installing firefox are all that’s needed to fix them up right.

So how can you use this to make money? Well, if you have a Google Adsense account, you may want to check into the Referrals section, which is basically Google’s version of Affiliate Marketing. You can check out the offers by clicking the Adsense Setup tab at the top of the page, and then following the Referrals link. They have a huge list of categories and offers much like a normal Affiliate Network. Under the “Google Products” category, there is an offer for Firefox plus Google Toolbar which pays $1 for every new Firefox user who installs the product. If you don’t have an account with Google Adsense, you should sign up here:

One of the best ways you can convince people to switch to Firefox is by requiring them to install it to use your site properly. There’s a nifty free piece of software called Explorer Destroyer which you can easily install on any website, blog, whatever, that will let you tell people using IE to get lost unless they install firefox. If you have a decent amount of traffic, all those $1 installs can add up pretty quickly.

You may be saying to yourself, “Does Nickycakes seriously want to piss off all his readers who use IE? Doesn’t he care about reader loyalty?” No. Nickycakes could care less about people who are stupid enough to use IE. IE users are like those 90 year old ladies driving at 45 mph in the passing lane on the highway and refuse to make room for people who actually want to accomplish something. Stop clogging up the internet, morons.

Thetoph likes it how you refer to yourself in the third person :P

  3. Roger Says:

As far as I can tell, Google removed the Firefox referral program. It’s nowhere to be found on the AdSense referral page.

I thought so too. Take a closer look at the very top category under Referrals (right above Animals). ;]

    Nice, thanks for the reminder.

On a totally different note. I’m a firefox lover, but am I the only one that bitches and complains about the memory leaks. I know it doesn’t hold a light to IE, but it would be awesome if they were less occurent.
