LeadsCon Vegas 2010 In Less Than A Week!

LeadsCon, the “pioneering conference and expo dedicated to increasing the effectiveness of those operating in the online lead generation industry” starts Tuesday (Feb 23-24)! It is being held again at the Mirage hotel and casino in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Nickycakes was lucky enough to attend the show last year, and really did get a lot out of it, especially from the keynote speaker Dan Ariely, author of “Predictably Irrational,” one of the best books you can possibly read if you are doing any kind of marketing.
Instead of doing the normal rundown of everything there is to do in Vegas and all the different sessions that are available at Leadscon, Nicky will talk about why Leadscon is now, more than ever, an important show for Affiliate Marketing.
The past few months have effectively put the final nails in the coffin for the rebill industry. It has been a great couple years, and everyone made piles and piles of money, but just like anything good, idiots had to ruin it. In this case, the idiots were crappy advertisers without terms of service, not delivering product, not letting people cancel their orders, etc. They ruined it for everyone, so thanks, assholes. There are still some rebills still going, but they are converting less and less as merchants turn to shadier and shadier offshore payment processors, but for now, they’re pretty much dunzo. The “Free Trial+shipping” rebill model may return in full force in the future, but it will likely be heavily regulated, and not what it once was, for sure. RIP.
Anyway, what does that mean for the future of Affiliate Marketing. Well, when Nicky got into the game, there really were no rebills. Of course, you had crap like blockbuster and ringtones, and other stuff that did rebill, but there was nothing around like the weight loss rebills. So what did people do? They did lead gen. And that’s what they’ll probably start to focus on again now.
So that brings us to LeadsCon, which is THE conference for anyone involved in the lead generation space. This is the place to be if you are looking to strike up relationships with advertisers and get direct deals. This is also the place to be if you want to start your own offer, or get some kind of white-label deal from advertisers in the industry.  There are also much fewer affiliates running around than at shows like Affiliate Summit so you are more likely to get more face time with the networks that are there, although there are many fewer networks that go to LeadsCon. That is not to say that it can be compared to Affiliate Summit (Nicky’s favorite show by far) as they are two entirely different beasts.
Should you shell out the nearly $900 for the pass if you’re a newbie? No. Just wait for ad:tech san fran or ASE. But if you’ve been in the game a bit and make some money already, then it’s definitely something you should check out.
Anyway, if you are getting in early, or even just there for the show, Nicky has no real schedule lined up so hit up the BBM:
Or hit up Cakes Chat.

I think im gonna try out one of your recommended restaurants. I’m there 21st-25th.
See ya in Vegas Cakes!
I’ll be there. Maybe I’ll come hunt you down and say wussup.
Some truth in your post but R.I.P? Sorry homie, you’re flat out wrong. Rebills are far from dead. The FACT is that people are still doing huge numbers with rebills.
When most people run the other way…
can’t go there as I’m far from other country.
Didn’t make it there this year… wish I did with all the CPL volume going on these days
Will this be another Affiliate Drunk Fest?
