How To Keep In Touch at ASW 2010
Just a few more days until ASW 10, which means you’re probably worrying about how you will keep in touch with other people that you may previously have only met online. People are arriving at different times, staying in different hotels, going to different parties, etc, and you don’t want to risk sitting in your room with no plans. Here are the best ways to stay updated on what’s going on at the show:
- Follow @Nickycakes on Twitter – At shows, Nicky tries his best to update everyone as to what he’s doing and what is currently going on. There are twitter clients for Blackberry and iPhones, and you can even have it SMS you updates that individual people send out if you want.
- Nickycakes IRC Chat – During conferences, Cakes Chat fills up with people at the shows trying to stay in touch with others who are also at the show and looking to meet up or find out where the party at. There are Blackbery and iPhone applications as well for IRC which is a very reliable way to keep in touch.
Since Nicky lives in Vegas, feel free to ask questions about getting around or whatever, especially restaurant related.
Every show it gets harder and harder to hang out with everyone, especially as this site grows in popularity and the shows get bigger and bigger. With that in mind, Nicky decided not to make any real concrete plans for the entire show, other than dinner on sunday night and a few parties. Totally wingin’ it this time. If you’re around and want to hang out, hit up the bbm and come chill.

Between Twitter, cell phones, Pokens, and livestream updates on the monitors, I don’;t think it’;s hard to keep track, though it can be hard to keep up. Looking forward to the show!
