Facebook Ads Overbill Thousands of Dollars

If you're tired of refreshing this page every day like a d-bag, you should probably subscribe to the RSS feed.

There have been numerous reports of Facebook ads overbilling advertisers to the tune of thousands of dollars. It seems that they have been mistakenly charging credit cards multiple times for the same day’s advertising fees. Make sure you keep detailed logs of how much your daily totals are for facebook ads, and then check your bank statement to compare the amounts. If they are overcharging you, just call your bank and reverse the charges.

Apparently banks have been more than willing to do chargebacks on these fees because many people have been calling in and reporting the same issues. In some cases the bank will actually reverse all the charges entirely (not just the overcharged amount) with no questions asked.

More shady business coming from facebook ads is no big surprise. The manual review process seems extremely biased, and facebook keeps adding more and more lines to their advertising guidelines in an obvious effort to push out competition on big moneymaking niches like ringtones and online dating sites.

Unfortunately, for the time being, facebook is still the best way to turn a little into a lot at the moment as clicks are still way cheap if you can make an ad with decentCTR. Things like this just make it easier to justify helping people game the system. Idiots.
