Affiliate Summit West 2010 Recap Part 2: The Parties

Oh man.  The parties this year were indeed off the hook.  Nickycakes had this grand scheme in his head that he was going to hit up all of them, but that plan never really worked out.  He also left his camera in the car for most of it so wasn’t able to get a whole ton of pictures.  Luckily, there were other people taking photos, including Steve Hall who somehow manages to get awesome photos of every party he goes to at all the shows.  If you’re having a party, it’s pretty much essential to invite Steve if you want good party pics.

One thing Nickycakes needs to mention.  A HUUUUUGE thanks to Neverblue and Plenty of Fish for funding and putting the Nickycakes/PPC.bz party together.  Especially Neverblue.  Many people said it was one of the best parties ever at a conference, and that is pretty accurate.  If you want to get invited to the next Neverblue sponsored event then your best bet is to sign up with them at least so you can beg your affiliate manager for an invite when the time comes.

Here is a rundown of the parties Nickycakes was able to make it to or was supposed to go to but was only able to get pictures of:

Nickycakes/PPC.BZ/Neverblue/PoF Paper Clique Jump Off

Affiliate marketing parties are generally sausage fests.  99% of the females in the industry work at affiliate networks, and when you have a party sponsored by affiliate networks, it is often impossible to invite these females to said party.  A lot of the affiliates have hot girlfriends that they could bring, but they generally don’t want to take a girlfriend to Vegas, especially not on a business trip.  Understandable.  To make up for it, most parties in the industry generally have hired models to sit around and look pretty and chat with people, whatever.  This party, however, had a decent number of non-hired girls…quite a surprise.

In addition to the surprising appearance of actual girls at the internet nerd party, most of Nicky’s boys showed up at some point during the evening.

nickycakes paid this guy an undisclosed amount later in the night to jump fully clothed into the pool. including the hat.

And probably the best part of the whole thing was the dj and rappers including the e-famous Ytcracker, Rob Hustle and Mic Davice.  The latter two performed at the Nickycakes/PPC.bz Ad:Tech San Fran party.  For those who don’t think you’ve heard of Ytcracker, let Nickycakes refresh your memory with this classic:

Anyway, here are some pics of the performance.  Most people came thinking these guys would be some kind of joke, but they have serious skills.  Not kidding.

no idea.  the a4d one was supposed to be awesome, but being at a strip club and all, no pictures surfaced as of yet anyway.

Monday Night

Mundo Media Party

Mundo Media is a relatively new network and they had their party in the Palms Suite that has the bowling alley inside.  Nickycakes didn’t stay for too long but it looked like fun and they had a bunch of hired girls dressed in very little being entertaining.  Heres the only pic he got from there:

As you can see, this is maybe the only picture in existence where Ian Fernando is not aiming his pointer directly at the camera.  He did, however, manage to get the rest of his fingers pointed at the camera so that counts for something.  The guy on the far right is some dude whos mom harasses nickycakes on facebook all day making inappropriate remarks, etc.  The usual.

Cx Digital

Well, they had a party too, but Nickycakes didn’t stay very long cause the music was pretty awful.  They had a bunch of girls airbrushed doing crazy circus acts at some point, although Nicky missed all that.  His requests for pictures of the party went unanswered so there are none to post.  Sorry CX.

Azoogle/Epic Advertising

So Azoogle went all out with their party and got the biggest suite on the top floor and hired about 50 playboy and other models to hang out at the party.  It was, however, packed with all the corporate douchebags that nobody wants to hang out with, so after taking some photos with some hotties Nicky bounced to go gamble and hang out with friends.  Here are some quality pictures of this wholesome family event:
