A lot of good tips and ideas, but I was looking for tips on optimizing the actual effect that I get out of the clicks I buy. Are there some general ideas, that I could try. I get a lot of clicks, but poor ROI compared to other channels. If you have tips on the laanding page that are special for this channel I would greatly appreciate it.

I run FB ads and find that the ad is turn on and off in bursts. For example a nw add went live tonight at 17:00 - it drove instant enquires, then nothing until 21:00 when it delivered another handful within the space of 5mins. Now nothing again? It is not near the daily limit yet.

I typically find my ads getting approved better at night. I am not sure if they have an actual person checking the ads during the day, and a bot at night, but I have better success starting an ad at night. 80% of my ads get denied during business hours, but the same ad (with minor tweaking) gets approved at night. Also test your bids. Start a budget for one day of like 10 bucks. Ad like 10 different campaigns to it, and see what performs best. If you get a good one that has converted and has a decent CTR, then run that one live. Re run the ad, and set your budget for a few days. Like $50 a day for 3 days. Nice thing is, if it stops performing, or the competition forces too high of a bid, you can just pause it. Ad another campaign and they can all share the same budget.

It works better in the middle of the night cause college students are generally most active at night. That's when there are the most wall posts, the most people online, etc. They'll stop studying in the middle of the night to check their profile, or come back from a party and check it. Anything before noon is essentially worthless as alot of students are still sleeping until then.
