No problem, bitch to CS. Sick of having like 50 ads in a row denied by facebook manual reviews with bs reasons, cakes’s friend decided to send a mail to advertise@facebook.com. Seems like this was enough to get his ads turned back on.
Currently, the manual review process is a complete joke. If you repost the same ad over and over, someone will eventually approve it. Evening hours seem to be the best for slipping shady ads through, due to understaffing or something, who knows. There have even been some screenshots floating around about some pr0n ads flying under the radar (the blue bar was not in the ad when it was displayed):

Anyway, here’s the email exchange about the disabled facebook ads. Hopefully this will help you guys get your stuff turned on if it’s being wrongly disabled.
Original Message to Facebook (advertise@facebook.com)
Hi,
My Ad Does not violate any of the policies you have mentioned. Why are my
ads being disabled unfairly? Is there a real person looking? Please take a
look at my website ad.

So you have an ad running through a header redirect, and you want to test different landing pages, different offers, whatever. Just throw this code in the index.php for your redirect url, put in the pages you want to test, set it, and forget it. This works great for facebook ads, as they’re hard enough to get approved, which makes it difficult to set up an identical ad to test a different landing page since the manual review process seems to be run by a band of retarded monkeys. It will, however, work perfectly fine for any other redirect. Enjoy:
<?php
//just add urls to this array and they will be thrown into the mix
$urls = array (
"http://nbjmp.com/click/?s=12413&c=50881", //beach bum
"http://nbjmp.com/click/?s=12413&c=47156", //SEO Supervisor
"http://www.nickycakes.com/links/neverblue" //neverblue
);
$redirect = $urls[rand(0,count($urls)-1)];
Header( "Location: " . $redirect );
?>

Well, if you had old Facebook flyers running, they’re getting shut down. Some people had some really well converting ones running, so they will probably want to get those switched to the new ads system, obviously.
This is likely good news for a lot of new advertisers as the cost per click will probably drop quite a bit with all the fliers off the market. Guess we will know on Dec 3rd.
Here’s a copy of the mail:
Dear ******,
We want you to know that the Facebook Flyers advertising program ends
on December 3, 2007.
On November 6, 2007, we launched Facebook Ads, an ad system for
businesses to connect with users and target advertising to the exact audiences
they want. Through Facebook Ads, these users can now learn about new
businesses, brands and products through the trusted referrals of their
friends.
Facebook Ads launched with three parts: a way for businesses to build
pages on Facebook to connect with their audiences; an ad system that
facilitates the spread of brand messages virally through Facebook Social
Ads; and an interface to gather insights into people's activity on
Facebook that marketers care about.
We encourage you to set up Facebook Ads to replace your Flyers. You
can learn more here:

All Flyers Pro ads in your account will automatically stop running on
December 3, 2007. You can continue to access your Flyers Pro reports
and invoices through December 17, 2007 here:

Ok, I’ve had a few conversations over the past few days with people like this one. They’re pissed that I’m telling people how to use facebook to make mad cash and want me to stop, etc. Seriously, if you’re planning on coming at me like this guy, don’t bother. Sorry about your e-peen guys. I got a lot of laughs from this one in particular:
v******c: have you thought that what you write about may be encroaching on not only your own business interests, but the interests of others?
nickycakez: ah ok
nickycakez: yeah you dont want me fucking with your facebook profits
nickycakez: heard it already, don’t really care
nickycakez: thanks for your concern
v******c: just so i have this clear, you won’t be refraining from facebook discussion? and plan to continue
nickycakez: what motivation do i have otherwise exactly?
v******c: your own interests. unless you think facebook is also a vacuume, and that your own interests won’t be affected by more people marketing facebook
nickycakez: like i said dude
nickycakez: i’m not stupid enough to post anything that will make me lose money
nickycakez: if i have something that’s making me thousands, or even hundreds a day, do you think i’m sharing the specifics with anyone?
nickycakez: that’s about as likely as finding useful information in an e-book kid
v******c: specifics or not, it doesn’t take an entire blueprint to put pieces together
v******c: are you calling me kid?
nickycakez: thats what it sounded like when i typed it
v******c: you must be one to turn business personal?
nickycakez: lol
v******c: i’ve said what i had to. from your responses i’m going to take it that you will not consider what i’ve said
nickycakez: you haven’t really said much
nickycakez: to be honest
nickycakez: if you want something from me, just ask me for it and explain why you want it
v******c: i did if you read what i said about interests
nickycakez: yes, but you have no reason to care about my interests
nickycakez: so i must assume (since you refuse to be clear with me) that you really mean YOUR interests
nickycakez: in which case i could care less, because what reason do i have to care about your interests exactly
v******c: i don’t, if you want to shoot the other foot go ahead. i told you what you write about might be stepping on others toes.
nickycakez: right….but why do i care about that exactly?
v******c: people generally do not like their businesses disturbed if it can be avoided
nickycakez: sucks for “people”
nickycakez: you should go try to shut down wickedfire and any other affiliate marketing forums too, since they talk more about it than my blog
nickycakez: they’ll probably tell you to go get fucked too =P
v******c: they don’t hand out blueprints
nickycakez: so you’re saying i’m better than wickedfire? thanks homie.
v******c: i’m saying you give much more detail than they do.
nickycakez: well thank you =)
nickycakez: that’s generally the idea of writing articles for people….providing useful information….
v******c: i think i’m done here. you aren’t hearing me, i didn’t think you would. take care and have a nice night.
nickycakez: you never really asked me for anything
nickycakez: be more direct next time killer
nickycakez: night
v******c: i asked directly enough, you know what i’m saying but are dancing around it. which is fine, i’ve delt with a lot of people that dance and play a game with me
nickycakez: no actually you never asked me directly for anything
nickycakez: you told me i might be stepping on other people’s toes
nickycakez: which i knew already
nickycakez: dont care
v******c: which is all i needed to hear
good night.
nickycakez: later kid

Wondering what you should bid for your facebook ad? Wonder no longer. Enter your CTR % below and Nickycakes’s special bid calculator tool will estimate the lowest amount you will have to bid in order to get impressions. Remember that facebook rounds to the nearest .01%, so if you want to be more exact, take your total # of clicks, divide by total # of impressions and then multiply by 100 to find your exact CTR. Enjoy!
*Please note that this is only an estimate as the actual amount you will have to bid will fluctuate based on how much others are bidding, but it should be fairly accurate.
